I started my car from cold yesterday evening and when she fired, blue smoke and an awful burning smell appeared from my exhaust! It quickly faded and I did not notice any more even when accelerating hard under load. Same thing happened this morning!
This has happened all of a sudden, with no prior indications that things were not quite right.

I am going to carry out a compression check hopefully this weekend to see whether it is rings but I have the sneaky suspicion that it is the Turbo oil seal/s. This is relatively new turbo, VF23!!! running 1.3-1.4Bar max.

Please, Please Can anyone give me some advice on what could be wrong???

HONG KONG FUEY. this sounds like oil from your turbo. the way to cheak if your piston rings are worn get the car warm and take the oil filler cap off. If it chuffs like a train from the filler pipe you got problems :[
