Angry No speed sensor, what will happen?

Just snapped my speed sensor while trying to remove it (why make it out of plastic ffs)
What will happen if I drive without it? I can put an old broken 2 wire in the hole so the oil wont come out.

The check engine light will come on for a speed sensor fault and drop the cr in limp mode

buy a new one from ashburton subaru and make sure you fit it properly, i use a spanner open ended cut down in half with a angle grinder, makes it so much easier

Cheers, that sounds better than £96 from icp lol. Will pop out there at some point and get one.

That sounds very cheap! Genuine sensor?

I just got one from ICP but directly from the site instead of via ebay (ebay is about £96 and the site is about £80.

They are stupidly delicate and mine was broken by being knocked while the gearbox was out.

As a worst case scenario you can simply send the wire that goes to the ecu to earth. The car won't go into limp mode you will just have some strange issues. Such as stalling at lights when you dip your clutch.
