Default h4 hid (alike) bulbs

Hey people, I'm after some new headlight bulbs for my wrx, I'm looking for a h4 bulb that gives off a hid look?

None, really. The light colour temperature is wrong. Some put a blue-ish tint in there, but it doesn't really work.

And, sadly, the H4 bulb is the one that doesn't really work as an aftermarket HID conversion.

If it were me, I'd be looking at so-called uprated bulbs, Philips Ultra Vision, Halfords Ultra Brilliance, Osram Nightbreakers, Ring 120% uprated etc .

Avoid cheap copies, they are often worse for scatter (and thus useable light) than a standard bulb, and don't go higher wattage unless uprating the wiring.

Don't buy theirs unless on BOGOF, others are better value. Google "uprated car bulbs", Amazon are good for them.

I echo exactly what Alcazar says

I personally always go for the Osrams. Had them for years, they produce a 'slightly whiter' light but with little scatter and I've yet to have one blow so last well
