Will it fit?
Does anyone know if an ej207 long engine minus ancilleries (just block and heads) fits in the boot of a newage saloon? Approximate weight would also be handy.
Thanks in advance

No sump or inlet? Just looking at a block I have it looks like it would... but that's purely a guess. However it will be a pig to get in and out and probably end up causing damage to the car in the process. Get it put on a pallet and delivered, it won't cost much.
yeah, no sump or inlet. I don't want to damage the car obviously. I'll look into a pallet but I'll be driving where it is going anyway so seems a shame to pay for it.
Anyone actually done this or is it too foolish to try?

I think you'll be foolish to even try It. A long engine is bloody heavy, you'd never be able to lift it up and over into the boot of an impreza, not without damaging the car.
If you've got an engine crane at both ends of the journey then you 'might' have a chance.

I'm sure there are loads of companies that will do it if you google around. You definitely made the right choice, it is possible in the boot, but you would probably cause so much damage to the car and yourself (hands and fingers) even with a crane that it's such not worth the hassle. Without a crane I would say no chance.
