Hi guys,
So today I went to start my scoobs up as they had been sitting for a while but the bugeyes pulley looked a bit rusty.

I didn't start it just in case it something bad happened. Do they need replacing or just a clean?

A bit of surface rust on the pulleys is not going to cause any issues... them being sat for a while (bare metal due to the wear) in a moist environment will be the reason. A bit of running may clean them up a bit. But you won't stop them rusting because the finish has worn off and its bare metal. You obviously can't paint them or coat them in anything to stop rust so it's just one of those things. Unless of course you get some nice alloy ones... but they also corrode just in a different way.

Well I hadn't been that active due to the cold and crappy periods we have had for a while and with other important things going on. But soon I will be getting them done properly and back on the roads, all major things had been taken care of I.e.rust on arches, other cosmetics and so this is only a minute issue.
This one is only a daily driver 2001 bugeye wrx so doesnt get as much attention as the others.

As for the labour cost I would have thought it's an hour max for a decent mechanic.
