Default GFB deceptor dump valve?

Hi there, I'm new to the site.
I have a 2002 bugeye wrx which I have been slowly modifying.
I am just seeking some advice. I know there is a lot of debate around recirculating and vta dump valves.
However I have been looking at purchasing a second hand gfb deceptor. It's a slightly older version. It's red. Similar to the new black deceptor II pro. Still fully adjustable, so u can have fully recirculating or vta, or 50/50.
Was just wondering if anyone has had, or has any experience with these dump valves. Are they even worth bothering with?

not had any run ins with that particular dv pal but ill gladly fill you in on them. i personally wouldnt switch from the standard dv. aftermarkets can mess with boost levels if the spring rates wrong. also you will be throwing out metered air with each dump which the maf will have accounted for, meaning you will be starving the engine of metered air / over fuelling / messing with the ecu. 50/50 is still dumping metered air and full re-circ will have no gain over standard. if you want your car to run optimum, stick with the standard bov unless you specifically want a dump valve sound (which for me is mega annoying over time). also if decide to fit an atmos bov i would suggest fitting a boost gauge so you can monitor boost levels and make sure youre hitting the right figures. overboost would suggest the wrong spring rate is fitted. thats from my experience with them anyway. good luck!

Thanks for that bud, to be honest im probably gona stick with the standard vave that's already on there now.
I have been reading so many conflicting stories recently about it all. And I guess subaru would not have put a fully recirculating dump valve on all their cars without good reason. If it ain't broke don't fix it I guess.
Although I am planning on getting a remap in the not so distant future. Do you know if the standard valve will be ok? I doubt I will be in excess of 260bhp.
