I just got back from a week away in Barcelona (which was nice), where we hired an easycar.com Merc A class. Whilst this was undoubtedly a much better car than we normally get abroad (corsa/clio/punto), it was as refreshing as ever to get back into the Scooby. I think all Impreza drivers should be forced to drive a hire car at least once every six months to reacquaint themselves with the mediocre junk that most people have to suffer.
