what code is coming up mate? is it p1308? my car is a 53plate STI on 79000 funnily enough and i currently have an issue with one of my oil control valve solenoids. its part of the avcs. I have an open circuit, code p1308. hopefully going to test it this weekend to make sure its actually the oil control valve that's faulty.
