Currently I am having a 2.1 stroker built which will be going in my bugeye wrx,
I have a std 5 speed box which has been running 320 for the past 5 years so maybe I maybe one of the lucky ones...
My car is due to be built and mapped very soon and what i wanted to know would it be possible to see what BHP could be achieved and then have it turned back down to a suitable level so that I should hopefully let the gearbox last at least the running in procedure until I can buy a six speed box.
or would I still be at high risk of blowing the gearbox whilst on the rolling road?

Hi there

In most cases what kills the gearboxes is torque not actual BHP,on RR you shouldn't blow gearbox,we are run PPG at 555.5bhp and everybody expected our PPG will blow in pieces on the rollers...Usually mapper will keep torque in reasonable levels when he will be mapping yours and yours gearbox will not explode on the rollers,just don't worry there,I've not seen for very long time,gearbox blow on the rollers
