Default Need Advice on fitting a walbro

Im in the middle of fitting a walbro to my MY99 uk turbo but have ran into a problem. First question, theres was what looks like an earth terminal on top of the old pump but not on the new, so what do i do with the 2 wires that went to it? Second, i connected the 2 red wires, and the black one from the new pump to the blue wire that went to the old pump. After i did that i put the assembly back in the car but now it wont start and there isn't any noise from the pump when i turn the ignition on. So is it something to do with those two wires or have i done something wrong
And help or advice would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
Steve
