Default Bit of smoke to start the day and now no fog lights!

Hi All, jumped in the car (2003 WRX PPP) this morning to go to work and seconds after starting some smoke appeared from behind the glovebox with the smell of electrical components giving up.

I've lost front and rear fog lights, and dashboard illumination. Everything else appears to work fine and the smoke has gone.

The 10amp fuse for the dash lights has blown - do they also control the fog light relays? The 2 fuses for front and rear fogs appear fine.

I'm assuming the fuses saved the day but is there anything related to lights in the passenger footwell area or should I be looking for a break in the loom which caused a short?

Thanks

I know it's been 2 weeks but I thought I better update this in case someone comes here from Google.

Turns out it was nothing more than the wires to the glovebox light becoming trapped against one of the top mounts, haven't had the box out since November so they had taken a while to wear through and short out. I got lucky!
