Default Impreza Turbo 2000 sidelight problems

Hi all. I went out today and found that my front and back sidelights, rear fog light and the lights for the dials are not working. All other lights like brake lights, main beam and high beam, reverse light and the check engine, battery, parking brake and oil light etc are working as they should. I have changed all fuses that have something to do with the lights and I tried swapping the relays over and still no joy. I have tested the rear sidelights and there is no power going to the bulbs (other than when I put my foot on the brake pedal). The lights were working fine when I last used the car on Tuesday. I have been told it could possibly be the actual stalk or a brake in the wire or a lose wire but I checked all the connections I could and none were loose. Has anyone else had this issue and been able to resolve or got an idea on anything I could be overlooking? Your knowledge and help will be much appreciated. Thanks guys/girls

You changed the fuses? For known, tested, working ones?

What do you mean by: "I tried swapping the relays over..."?
What relays? Where? Swapping how?

Is the car running standard lights, Morettes, or an HID aftermarket kit?

I replaced the fuses with brand new fuses.

I swapped over the relays located under/behind the dash so I changed the tail light ilumi relay with the r Def relay.

And the car has standard headlights with standard bulbs.

Could be lighting switch then.

Can you swap the stalk for a known working one? it's easy enough to do, undo the screws holding the steering column cowl, remove and remove cowl.
Then you'll see the screws holding the stalk controls and the wiring clips.
