Default newbie impreza mongrel

Hi all.

So not long had my 2003 blob eye, which is my second impreza. Had a classic wrx type RA before but sadly it got written off and broken as insurace company screwed me.

More about the current car. which I swapped my sensible audi avant B7 tdi for. Its a 03 impreza wrx with a rebuilt sti engine, so bit of a mongrel.
Spec:
ACL bearings
up rated fuel pump - need to check make
550cc injectors
vf35 turbo
fmic intercooler
3 port solenoid
exhaust and induction
mapped 340bhp and 320 torque as still running 5 speed.
Carbon bits and sti suspension and wheels which were refurbed.
Got the heated leather seats which at 6am have been great.

Sadly my last impreza ownership was very short lived ( only 3 months) I welcome any advice. I am looking for somewhere close to dudley to get it properly looked over if anyone has recommendations.

Very nice mate. From experience and for peace of mind I always get my car looked over by a specialist and on the Dyno. I have done this with my new STI Prodrive whilst it was there it was given a good going over and came back with a few minor things and some fresh fluids. Peace of mine for me when I put my foot down.... Looks very smart tho love the black best colour IMO

Yeah I have dyno print out of the 343BHP and receipts from engine rebuild. It's older then I was looking for but turned out to be a straight swap. Yeah totally agree with getting it looked over by a specialist - recommendations welcome!

Plans are to tidy and make a few changes to exterior - just simple stuff.
Look at suspension as rear has knock.
Brakes feel awful so going to look them over same time

Quick question, car is running a three port solenoid, with the third port just to atmosphere. Is this the best setup for a three port?

That's perfectly fine. The third port can vent back into the intake if desired but it makes no difference

Paul and Rich @ ZEN PERFORMANCE are really good. They have looked after my Impreza STI very well indeed. Paul is an expert and his advice is always honest! Just for that it is worth going to them alone.

They never do unnecessary work and will not let the car go unless they're 110% happy with it. Paul is also a very good mapper, which is a bonus!

They are based in Northamptonshire and I travel from Birmingham to see them when ever I need to get work done. In fact I'm going back there in two weeks.

Check them out and/or give them a call - always willing to give top advice:
http://www.zenperformance.co.uk/p/Home.html

For example: I was worried about something that was happening to my car last week when going up my drive... A quick call to Paul @ Zen and he told me what it was and what to do to rectify the issue. Sure enough it fixed my problem and helped me to better understand how these cars work.

Good luck.

PS Car looks great!

Yeah I will check them out - I have decided i'm going to take it somewhere in 2 weeks for a check out. So will get in touch with both Clinic and Zen.

Yeah the sound from the third port on full boost isn't great so may look at re plumbing it in.
