Default can i use any 4111 box with my diff??

As per title can I use any classic gearbox in my 94 RA as long as its a 4.111 like the original? I was planning on removing my RA box and saving, then buying an STi box with different ratio's to use in it on track.

Cheers in advance

No The early RA's are 4.111 and the later RA STi is 4.444 as you suggest

I thought early RA boxes were 3.9, don't suppose you'd get rid of the box once removed?

I have a 93 WRX RA. Best swap is TY752VB3FA from 95 STI. Has improved double cone 2nd gear synchro as well. Straight swap 4.1:1 diff.

94 STI RA had 3.9 diffs. very rare ratio in classic only fitted to that model.
WRX RA had the 4.1:1 diffs as fitted to normal WRX.

Your info is not at all correct fella...

The MY93 WRX RA and M94 WRX RA uses a 4.1 FD

The MY95 WRX RA/STI RA and MY96 WRX RA/STI RA uses a 3.9 FD.

Absolutely correct... just refreshed my memory via the tranny chart. Must be old age...
