Default Convert a sat dish to freeview aerial?

I was wondering if it's possible to modify the unused sat dish and/or mount to use as a freeview aerial. I'm not expecting the dish to actually do anything, just the mount gives me something to attach the aerial to. I was thinking of disconnecting the co-ax from the LNB and attaching a wideband aerial in it's place, then connecting this up to the co-ax and finally fitting a f connector to coax conversion on the end. Will this work?

The aerial on the roof isn't capable of receiving freeview and it's in another room which we don't use (in the West wing), but I'd like to hook the aerial up to the Xbox One in order to use the Xbox One Guide (£25 for the adapter from M$) and have it combine it with Now TV app and Plex app.

Any old Skybox can be used as a freesat box?.

So if you have an old sky box hanging around, plug it it, it should give you the free channels.

Alternatively, yes you can use the satellite coax as a aerial cable instead. They use the same grade cable for both terrestrial and satellite these days (WF100, PF100, CT100 or RG6 etc)..

The wall bracket? Well, depends on how good the wall and the rawlplugs used are....

Had an F5, I'm trying to reduce the number of set-top boxes, so the TiVo and F5 have gone, I didn't watch enough of them anyway. Plex gets me enough of the non-FTA channels, which I can run through the Xbone and a NowTV box in a different room (there's also FilmOn for Plex)

Does your TV have a satellite connector on it, likely next to the aerial socket? If so then the chances are that it has an inbuilt HD Satellite receiver.

It is an undocumented "feature" on many modern UK TVs, probably due to some certification or other, that despite what you ask in the shop or read in the blurb, works. Same TV for sale in Europe documents and promotes it.

Set it up for my mum in Ireland on a normal Sky type dish, TV bought in London.
