i know there are a few websites , but they refer to using a blank on the manifold to plumb in the boost gauge

My STI3 doesnt have a blank, but it does have a black hose running from the mainfold through a small disk and over to the boost controller.

Should I tee in the t piece in to this pipe, to the boost gauge.

Help appreciated

 

Don't know about the STI but on a UK model pre MY97 there is 3 pipes side by side on the manifold, you Tee off the middle one.
