Gearbox whine

Default Gearbox whine

Need some advice ...car whines in 2nd and 3rd between 1500 and 3000rpm...is it a box out and repair or let it get fookd and get a new one...thanks in advance

They are chocolate mate, I had 3 gearboxes in my old uk turbo.

Best of getting a good secondhand one.

You could probably get it repaired @ API

Or buy a good secondhand one, just one of those things mate.

When i bought the car, gearbox went...my replacement box is on the way out now...think its due to the running bhp...a stronger box would be an idea but dont know which one...6spd route too expensive

You could try a newage gearbox from a blob or hawk, make sure you get the matching rear diff! To be honest 6 speeds can be got cheap if you're quick!

The 54 box is the stronger one, it's the 52 that's weaker. Tbh it's how you use it or past life that breaks it.
If it is there's no point in getting another 54 then. 6 speed is only option left.
You sure it's not your diff?

is the diff in the same unit as the gearbox?

Put new tyres on the car today.whine is worse now...confused!!
