Default 6 speed non DCCD gearbox oil

Hi all

I know this question has been asked countless times, however here I go..

looking for new oil for my 6 speed as its feeling abit notchy

been recommended motul 300 and Castrol syntrax

however I have also read that a semi synthetic oil will be good in the 6 speed, of with both the above are fully synthetic?

any advice guys?

thanks
sam

Hi Sam

You can use a synthetic or semi, the full synthetic is the best option for protection and will last longer than a semi. The Gear 300 is one of the very best available, but the Castrol Universal is fine as a cheaper alternative.

Hi Sam

I think it might take a little bit more, something like 4.1L, but if you got 5L, you'd have enough over to do the diff as well (I don't think yours has a LSD, but might be wrong).

Cheers
