Default STI UP-PIPE

Ok i have a 02 sti with PPP, seems i have the anoying up-pipe rattle3 questions.
1: does the up-pipe have a cat?
2: Am i better changing it or just heat wrap it?
3: If i change it which is the best for my car?
would like to keep the car as it is if i am honest,so dont want any cheap crappy after market bits and bobs on it. I would appreciate any help please

2. Change it
3. If you don't want to modify it, buy another sti up-pipe off a breaker. You should be able to get one for around £50

Your uppipe shouldn't have a cat in it, and the best fix would be to source another sti uppipe from a breaker and fit that, or you may be able to get yours fixed (welded?)

But are you sure it's the uppipe, may just be a heat shield rattling?

Have you had a loss of power or any other symptoms?

Sorry should have give more info. It is the heat shield that is rattling so my thinking is to take off the heat shield and heat wrap the pipe.

Others I know have removed the shielding and replaced with wrapping.
Before I put on an Sti uppipe I got mine welded in a couple of extra places to be sure.
