Hi guys, firstly I apologise for not being able to make the meet at Cardiff last month, I had to work nights under duress! I will certainly be at the next meeting however. I'm I have a query which I hope you fine gentlemen (and ladies) may be able to solve.....
I am carrying out a major service on my version 4 wrx sti 1998 type RA and I have hit a bump with regards to the fuel filter. Where is it located and what type do I need! I would appreciate anyone's input into this as I'm currently on stop!

The black cylinder behind battery in engine bay

Make sure you put the new one the right way round, arrow on filter shows direction of flow

changed mine a month ago. I would advice going for this one its a genuine Subaru fuel filter >> http://www.rogerclarkmotorsport.co.u...?productID=489

on my 93wrx its located near the screen wash bottle. undo the bottle from the two top nuts so you can have better access to the filter don't have to remove it .
also you mite want to take the wire clip of your fuel pump, start your engine and let it die out, this should relive all pressure in the fuel liens.
the fuel lines can be a Bi**h to get off the filter so if you get a prob with them boil a kettle and poor hot water on the lines (careful not to get water in them ) and they should be easier to get off good luck

when your all done put everything back, fuel pump wire clip being the last thing. you will need to prime the pump so turn your key a few times (so all electrical start) then start the car

You dont have to touch the pump just replace filter with new one and prime it a good few times, you will spill a shot glass of fuel and you dont have to worry about getting water in there when removing the hoses....

And you dont have to touch water bottle either theres a hell of a lot of room its a 5 min job if the fuel lines dont give you bother
