Should suspension bounce test work?
Hi - first scooby in 8 years, so still trying to remember stuff
Pretty bad knocking from the suspension which led the garage I got the car from to replace the droplinks and track rod ends. Helped a bit but still very bad from the rear end. They then replaced the rear top mounts and that made a huge difference.
However, still getting some knocking at low speed (cornering doesn't cause it, just low speed bumps). Anyway, tried to bounce my rear suspension to see how it settles and I can't get the thing to bounce at all - zero movement. Even trying to lift the car I can't get any movement.
Daft question, but I should be able to right? Only asking as from doing some google searching it seems that some marques don't really respond from a bounce test.
Many thanks!

Well, gave the car some more spirited bouncing on the rear and manage to get them shocks to move on both sides. Very little movement and a couple clunks when the shocks compress again, so looks like I need some new shocks for the rear - surprise surprise.
I have 3 months RAC Warranty cover on the car, can't imagine they will cover it given the age/milage, but I'll try anyway :-)

I've a MY05 Blobeye wagon (PPP).
Think I'll stick with standards, prefer a more comfortable ride for the family. Never considered refurbs, new ones seem to be around £90 per corner for the rears which doesn't seem excessive.
