Default blobeye sti suspension on wrx

Good afternoon everyone,
I've tried searching but can't find the answer, im hoping someone can help.
I have a 2005 wrx sedan and am purchasing a set of 2003 (53) sti shocks and springs.
1st question is will they fit straight on without changing top mounts ir any other bits?
2nd question is I want to lower it at the same time and have seen a couple of spring manufacturers apex and tein - does anyone know should I be buying the springs to fit a wrx or sti as im not sure if I'll have to change the top mounts to make the sti shocks fit.
Thank you in advance for your help
Craig

I swopped my 03 blobeye wrx shocks/springs straight out for 03 sti blobeye ones which were fitted with prodrive lowering springs. If your 05 wrx is the same tracking as the 03 sti then there isn't an issue but around 05 the sti tracking was widened, if the 05 wrx was the same the struts will not fit. Lowering springs would be matched to the strut not the car.

you could ask at a subaru dealership or at RCM, I see they're on your doorstep

All wrx are non widetrack so the 03sti suspension will fit yours

Hey Craigyb, let me know how you get on here. I have really struggling sourcing shocks and springs for my late 2005 WRX. Been given the KYB part numbers for the 03-04 WRX, but I did hear that the 03-04 (non-widetrack) STi has the right bits (inverted strut type) to use as replacements.. I am looking at the Eibach lowering springs myself...
