Default Nuts and bolts for fixing engine to a stand?.

I've got an engine on my garage floor I'd like to put up on a engine stand, I just popped out to pick up some M10 bolts and nuts hoping that would do the job, but they won't bite,

Can anyone advise on the size required please?

I seem to recall they are M10 fine thread (1.25mm pitch vs 1.5mm pitch)

I used the two long bolts you get from removing the gearbox and some head studs from a saab (not much use to you, but you can use the two from the gearbox at least).

Thanks, but I didn't remove the engine so don't have the bolts

I'll start hunting around though.

Yeah the transmission ones are M10X1.25 don't try to thread 10x1.5 (common sized) bolts in. You can get them on ebay but they tend to be quite expensive. Not sure how much Subaru charge for the gearbox bolts... probably lots.
