Not a fan of induction kits but I think the materials and filtration of many of those tested have moved on in the 15 years since the article was written.

OE box and panel for me.

Don't RCM induction kits use K&N filters?
K&N do a massive range of universal filters... I bought this for my EVO to replace the crappy HKS that was on there when I bought it:

I have used K&N filters of both types on all my newage Impreza's and have never had a problem at all and certainly no MAF failures.

I think the problem with K&N filters to a large extent is a bit of a Scoobynet legend that was borne out of ignorance in some cases, I dare say there would be a risk of a problem if the filter was dripping with oil but if it is properly maintained then it will offer better filtration levels than a standard filter.
