been having a look over the sti as had to take wheels of to replace mudflaps and seen that behind my drivers side wheel the subframe is rotting away
its basicaly just below anti roll bar mount
now mot will be due in a few months so need to sort it by then , is there any after market subframes available which will allow me to still keep the undertray?
also read that some impreza never had this part ?so is it safe to use without it ?

I took mine of for the mot, (some people advised it was fine on here) and it has been fine ever since. Some people will say don't remove it as it's supposed to be there but I removed mine and it's been fine. That is if your on about the same part ie the u shaped piece that goes around the front of the car.

 

A lot of people on here take them off for mot ,iff it's not there it can't fail on it,some models don't have them fitted as standard anyway.

 

thanks i will be removing mine then and replacing it with an after market brace if there are any available

mine went for the MOT last Saturday, MOT tester never even asked why it wasnt there. .
