Default Newbie exhaust question!

Hello everyone, I recently purchased a 53 plate WRX, I was planning on keeping it standard but I cannot resist the urge for more power and modifications any longer!

I have been searching around and found this page which is pretty helpful for outlining first stages of typical mods, and am now after an exhaust system.

Can anyone please give thier opinion on this (shameful ebay cheap option) and the possibly give me a recommendation as to whether to go ahead, or for a better option?

Here is my car! (Have done over 5k miles in her so far without any problems at all )

Many thanks!

That eBay system doesn't look great IMO but might be ok, I have a cat back system currently for sale if your interested which would cater for your needs. Fitted with a decent air filter and remap will give a power increase from roughly 225-245/255. Have a few interested parties but no firm offer yet for the full system so let me know if interested. Thanks very much mate, those power gains sound excellent, have been looking around for panels, anything you would recommend??

I will avoid the ebay system in that case and look for a better option! Thanks for the link but cant really arrange collection, and want a new one really!

I will probably be removing as many cats as I can get away with, I'll have a chat with my usual MOT guy and see how 'friendly' he is about emmissions testing first!

I will start off with a cat back system, something like this: this which I have just found thanks to your advice + a panel filter, walboro fuel pump and a remap, and will see where I go from there!

Green cotton or Cosworth panel filters are a good start.

catback exhaust doesn't gain you anything but sound. Put a TBE, uprated fuel pump and a tune. Boom! you got powah.

A cat back with performance air filter will give you gains with a remap.

why waste money on a remap for just a catback and air filter where you get more on Tbe, and a bigger fuel pump+tune.
