Default Gearbox removal n flywheel skim

As above had my clutch done a few weeks back but still got a judder on it wot i dident now at the time is the flywheel should of been skimmed any way i was thinking of taking the gearbox out myself (as cash flow is tight )is this something i can do on the drive do i need any special tools and any idea where i can get the flywheel skimmed in or around the swansea area i have done clutches n gearboxs on fords pugs vauxhalls ect but never on a scooby

You can do it on your drive, but it's hard work. You'll need something that'll lift a bit higher than a basic trolley jack to get the clearance. Biggest difference you'll notice between the Ford and scooby (excluding the propshaft) is the weight of the damn thing. Especially when you are trying to line up the shaft with the clutch.

I had my flywheel skimmed by a machine shop in Skewen. Top job and he took as little off as possible.

Thanks for reply rich i just may save a few more pennys and put in somewhere and get it done iv'e found a engine builder today in morriston that can skim the flywheel so its back to saving
