Major 8.3 Earthquake

Entire northern coastline of Chile has been ordered to evacuate.
Affects Chile, equador and Peru to be hit by Tsunami.
Alerts in Columbia, Panama, Costa Rica.

They say that the "wave" will reach 6ft in height. But surely the coast on the Pacific must be used to waves much bigger than that? Quite calm in ocean terms.
