Default blobeye HID conversion

my mate has a blobeye wrx and wants to convert his headlights to HID with a kit but they have plastic lenses, will they be ok or will they melt or burn

HID's produce LESS heat than a halogen. He'll be fine.

I'd not run them on dip for risk of blinding other users (although my personal opinion is that aftermarket fitment lights are no worse than OEM SUV's), but for main I'd gladly install a set. Impreza lights really are woeful...
