Didn't do them originally, and Steve Page said they wouldn't be doing them.

Are you sure they are not for the Hatch only (Part No. SEAAFG2000)??

Only decent flaps have been the Rally Armor ones..........

Great having the blue option.

I suppose why would want a rear wash wipe as it never rains in the UK

The more reviews and video test-drives I read online the more wound-up I'm getting with Subaru. Every reviewer bangs on about the gold wheels, every picture and vid show the WR blue with the gold wheels, and yet despite me putting my hard-earned down on the Sti in Jan I'm not getting them.
I'm hoping that Subaru decide to do something for the UK release, but it's looking less and less likely, as my dealer has contacted me to say Subaru are putting together a 19" gold alloy and tyre package for nearly £1000 more on top of the price?
I'm not going to pay even more money for a car that, in my opinion, is being banded about with the gold wheels as standard.

The trouble is everthing you have been reading/watching is related to the US version - Subaru's largest market. The car coming here, will be a mixture of the three versions available in the US/Canada

The car that arrives here will have been specced by Subaru Europe and IM at a price that they think they can sell it for....................

As has been mentioned the final spec will probably be released at/after the Geneva show in March.

I'm not too bothered with the gold wheels mate to be honest, hoping their going to be more like gun metal or anthracite as i had my wheels done on previous scoob in WR blue and it really suited the car.
Understand you're frustration though as you put you're deposit down so early. Could easily have them powder coated gold if that's what you'd prefer?

Normally cost around £250 to have four wheels refurbished.

Hulk do what most of us did with the saloon, but a second set, gt2 or gt1 are cheap, and have winter wheels put on one of the sets,

I personally think dark grey black are still the best looking wheels about, every car I get I try afford a black version.

Gold is very Subaru, but if it's what you want then save up.

I was a bit pissed at my A45 when I ordered it as the Australians of all people only have 3 options to choose unlike us Brits who have about 20 there car comes fully loaded.

I had to visa my extras to a tune of 5k as last night I added performance exhaust and aero pack after some beers LOL.

IM group can be helpful sometimes I got a free remap from them, speak to Julian if he's still there and stress your concern, see if they can do you a set at cost.... I got a stereo out of them also at cost

Be careful if you get them powder coated as they are forged alloys that are annealed. The baking temp for powder coating can brittle them. Loads of examples of WRX wheels smashing after powder coating, just do a search.
If I was you I would talk to your dealer. You put a deposit on something that may not exist or was miss sold. Got to ask the question though do you know what you have got a deposit on as the spec is not released yet. E.g what seats? What entertainment system? Etc. The dealers really shouldn't have taken deposits until March 6th.

I don't want to powder coat new alloys, I'm more interested in getting some OEM alloys I think. But I'm not happy about having to find another grand for the privilege. I guess I'm going to have to wait till early March until the official specs are released. If I'm not happy with the specs, or rather if they are a million miles away from what i believe Subaru tempted me in with, then I'll make my decision. Until then I guess I'll just have to stew on it. No good for my blood pressure eh?

Oh, here is one of the VERY few vids of the car without gold alloys. Don't look as good to me.....

I have to say, I had this issue on my Saloon I was one of the first to get it, and the options list well there wasn't one. a few months later 320R, 340R sat nav etc...

I think the wheels look too small maybe 18s ? needs some 19s to fill them there arches

I really want the new Sti. I'm sort of in the mindframe that if all these new models start going wrong - Subaru really wouldn't have a leg to stand on. My biggest concern would be Subaru trying to blame a possible failure on driver error. I'm not going to mod mine at all, and I won't be bouncing her off the red-line either. I'm also worried that the supplying dealer who is doing me the deal on the Subaru is hundreds of miles from me. Therefore in the event of something going wrong, I would be taking it to Derek Slacks in Teeside - who didn't sell me the car, and would probably not give me the level of customer care that the supplying dealer would.

But, like I said - I've paid my deposit now and signed the order form. I'm really gutted by all this. It's really taking the shine and excitement off what should be a fantastic thing to look forward to.
Hi TheHulkster.
I bought a 60 reg STi 2 years old from an independent dealer.
I had the well documented problems of ring failure.I live in Guisborough & took it to Derek Slack. They sorted it all out under warranty no questions asked, virtually put a new engine in and turbo.

I am going to test drive one when they become available.

There's a short road test of the STi (a US car I think) in this week's Auto Express. It says it uses the old 2.5 engine.

Is there a JDM 2.0 version?

Apart from the spec I posted earlier in the thread, nothing else has been or will be confirmed until Geneva Motor Show, when the European spec is officially announced.

Appreciate your help on this thread.

Do you think there will be ANY chance Subaru will do a u-turn on the gold alloys?
