It's a high octane petrol which is good for subarus.

I would love to come join in to this wedding but Derby is miles from me! Good luck with the wedding!

I just got back from my honeymoon, but I used my scooby for my wedding car! Was good fun rocking up the venue in a loud car!

Yes, Momentum - Tesco's 99 RON petrol.

Unfortunately the car often requires in-journey refuelling.
(Once managed to get 250 miles out of the tank).

Congratulations !

I used mine to ferry the bridesmaids to the church at my daughter's wedding.
Don't think the other side of the family (well mother anyway) was too impressed that the youngsters were more interested in my jap crap than her brand new Big Cat.

If Btb can't find one I'll have a ferret about.
Tbh it will simply be a straight up and down run due to other committments that day.
Do the car good though, it doesn't have enough proper exercise

What's the final count of who's going? and where's the meeting place? My schedule seems open and Mrs. is willing to come along. It's quite a drive (Cambridge) to get there but if attendance is high, I will drive.

Bu&&er, going to have to be on my way by 7-ish then (mind you, less traffic).

I've kept the diary clear (even of the wife's plans and circumstances) so I'll be there.

Donington Services (J23a Northbound) looks a good place to 'pre-meet' for anyone coming from the south.

Anyway, if someone could PM me know as well.

Cheers !

Hi Dave, the services at 23a looks ideal and is about half an hour of so from the bridesmaids house. Kev and James, is that any good for you two for about 9.15?

Really looking forward to the day and Michelle lets hope all the rain came today

Andy

What a fcukin' awesome day !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

8 Subarus, only generation missing was the Classic.

Highlights for me:
  • timing of arrival at Donnington Services.
Amazingly the 6 of us who met there arrived literally within seconds.
The Police Traffic Officer was well impressed with us I think.
  • 'The Derbyshire Triangle'.
I can't remember the name of the village but to watch Subaru after Subaru disappear backwards down what looked like a gap between two houses was something else - especially when it ended up as 8 in the yard of 2 houses.
Loved the 2 young lads who kept having a sneak peek !
  • The Close where the bride-to-be lived.
20-odd (?) houses, balloons, all the neighbours out and the square within teeming with burbling scoobies. Awesome pics I'd think.
  • The look on the vicar's face as we went straight past the church (2 mins after the service was supposed to start).
  • The amount of interest as the guests were dropped off one after the other, especially the guy who couldn't take enough pictures and was continually saying 'thankyou, thankyou, brilliant'.
That's specifically to do with the wedding but a few other personal things:
  • Without doubt THE highlight - the friendliness and genuine warmth of everyone we met. What an ad. for Derbyshire and that neck of the woods !
  • Er... and another THE highlight - the friendliness and camaraderie of the 7 other Subaru owners I had the absolute pleasure of being with.
Thanks lady and gents, it was a really great experience (and also the partners who were there).
I never dreamt that buying a Subaru could bring more pleasure than just driving.

Best of luck to Michelle & Andrew for a long and happy life together.

Hi Dave, glad you got back ok it was a hell of a round trip you did.

And what a post, all I can say is ditto x 10.

There were one or two sore heads this morning at breakfast in the hotel and that was just my table

LOL at the vicar, his face was an absolute picture and I'm pretty sure you couldn't here the bells for the rumble.

Great camaraderie as you say, it was indeed a genuine pleasure to meet some of you again and some for the first time. Like you say shame we didn't have a classic but the motors there were the dogs bo11ocks.

Good luck to you both Michelle, ours was 27 years ago last Friday and I wish the same happiness for you and Andrew (who by the way is a really nice guy)

Andy & Karen

Really pleased to hear that the day went so well. I always read such positive things when being involved in/part of the 'enthusiast' side of owning a Subaru .

I agree totally with you Kev, it was a great day, and was brilliant to meet all the guys that attended, it was great to be a part of Michelle and Mason's big day. That was a classic Luckywelshchap, I wish someone got a picture of the vicars face as we suddenly opened the taps past the church

Kev, Kay was pleased another girl was there, so she didn't have to listen to all us geeky guys all day , so no problem anytime, but have you set that date yet?........ hope to see all that attended again real soon.
