WTF is going on with my P1?

I think you should have a data log done when the car is hot and pulling back or giving you idle problems.
You can then tell if AF is out indicating a fuelling issue. Whether Ign is being pulled, indicating knock or other issues.
Whether you ICV is operating correctly or it is pegged open/closed. Whether the throttle plate is closing correctly or not.
Once you narrow the problem you should be able to solve it quickly.
BTW unplug the MAF and see what happens. Loosen the clamps on the TB hose when the car is idling badly, see if it improves are gets worse.
Carbie cleaner works better than wd40, propane the best, But I would not recommend using propane for a DIY guy.
The data log willhelp you narrow it to a system.

Fault code with flash reading came back again as 24, this is ICV, but I have put the one on my old engine back, with new seal and it made no difference.
Ref running when hot, this was the problem 2 days ago but it can also run like s**t from cold... on a couple of times the idle was fine when hot as well, which was very rare, this is why the problem has been so hard to rectify

No because the problem would be more consistant.
A month ago the car run perfect for 5 days after a nmechanic had looked for leaks and checked injectors, he noted one injector plug connection looked like it had over heated or something but done nothing to car apart from looking... then it started playing up again, pulling back etc.
Problem certainly appeared to be air leak at first, but none found and due how eratic problem is went down the route of electrical problem.
But now think it's possibly fuel related, injectors, seals or fuel pump maybe?

I have taken advice from specialist and owners on both this site and P1 owners club site, any parts changed were part of a logical process of elimination
Bearing in mind the guy who done the engine swap was meant to specialise in scoobies and TVRs anyway.
Car can not be driven any distance at the moment and no 'specialist' local to me, but a few good mechanics.
I need to eliminate the problem and hope fitting new injectors will do this, as the turbo is starting to whine a little I think it's a good time to upgrade the fuel system anyway and hope to fit bigger turbo and uprated pump soon.... then it's JGM and set up properly on a rolling road.

Any update ? Interested to find out the answer!
Also as above are Austec any good? Does anyone use them? I have my own opinion but only popped in for a couple of prices but never used myself.

A nice Austec 911 came past me at the weekend but never used them myself. I looked into remapping through them as they are local but they didn't seem to know much about Subaru's if their website is anything to go by.
I googled them, and found an interesting thread with a resignation from their former service manager but that was a while ago.
It's the only local place i can think of that seem to do a lot of work on TVR's.

The mechaniucs name is Russ and he did learn his trade at Austec Racing, he now has his own business in Plumstead, probably been running his own business for about 5 or 6 years.
I have been really busy last couple of weeks so the scooby has been parked up waiting for me to locate another set of injectors, and possibly a turbo upgrade.
If anyone has a good upgrade package please pm me, thanks.

If you find a damaged seal order some replacements, if not tick it off the list.

I'm no expert, but I had a big hesitation issue with my old UK Turbo on acceleration, I bought a new MAF from importcarparts (good for official Subaru parts) but it didn't fix it, tried a few other things, then finally changed the boost solenoid for a new one again brand new not secondhand and it cured the issue for me. Might be worth a try (apologies if you've already been there)

I was hoping to find some injectors to upgrade when new seals fitted, but looks like I may just fit new seals this week and see how it performs.
I have been offered a Porsche Boxster at a good price and am being tempted to change my toy, but just to have the scooby parked up getting dirty when I have just put new tax on it doesn't make sense, either way I must get this car sorted.

I drove it for the first time for over 3 weeks yesterday, it hasn't fixed itself
I have a good mechanic booked to fit new injector seals but was looking to put in a set of uprated injectors at same time but haven't found a set at right price yet.
This mechanic has finally agreed to look at it but didn't want to because he thought the guy who done the engine swap had f**ked something as he knew how sweet the car run prior to the engine swap
I bought a Porsche Boxter and my time has been spent sorting that out as well and want it on the road by end of this month.
Then it will be a matter of either the Porsche or the Scooby

Yep.. Lambda sensor, Coilpack, Leads, Plugs, Maff sensor. all proper quality parts as well
I decided to upgrade injectors instead of just replacing seals, so new 550 injectors and seals being fitted next Wednesday, the idea being when this car is running properly again I will upgrade the Turbo as mine has started to make a slight noise.

wouldn't advise fitting 550's and not being mapped to suit regardless, your adding problems not making them better.
The money you have spent on this car you could of had it up and running if you just listened and seeked specialist help.
If you carry on down the same route give us a shout when it's up for sale as spairs or repairs

Things been a bit slow last 3 weeks because my dad died, so had to deal with everything being only child, but back onto the scooby now.
I had new 550 injectors installed and car drives fine until you try to go over 3000 revs or use turbo.... I hope it now just requires a remap to stop what appears to be over fuelling.
First thing in the morning I am phoning JGM to discuss things and try to work out how to get it to the rolling road in surrey (about 40 miles), one other problem is it's MOT ran out 7 weeks ago, obviously can not get an MOT on it with the fuel issue so may have to chance a very slow drive to surrey.
The other option is ask JGM to come to me and do a remap... then when/if I fit new turbo get it set up on rolling road afterwards.
