Only time I ever come close to using a lot of space is on a track day when I'm taking 4 or 5 4gb videos in 1080p
On my Galaxy S3 I've got a 64gb SD Card which they all go on, with the Nexus I'll just use a card reader.
In any case, leaving 64gb of data on a device like a phone is absolute suicide - it should be backed off to a cloud source (or computer, etc) as quickly as possible. I use my SD Card for 5 or 6 hours every couple of months then it's emptied off accordingly, would be silly to keep any data of value on a phone regardless of how careful you are.
I don't even download my spotify playlists anymore, turned into a bit of a stream *****.

Practically all of my music, all of my pictures, lots of documents, apps, at least one porno. All in sync with my iPad, MacBook and iMac, the last two are backed up to a time capsule, music is also backed up to iTunes Match, documents also on iCloud, Google Drive and Dropbox. Think I have it covered.

By having it stored locally, you're just duplicating a lot of data.
I think it's just a shift in usage mentality for hosted storage for backing up/duplicating, to "streaming" your stuff on demand right down from hosted storage, hence not needing a tonne of local space.
Nobody can really argue that Google/LG have hit a pretty brutal price-point with this device considering it's spec, and the only obvious limitation I can see is their decision not to offer more than 32gb local storage and/or an SD slot. Personally I'm happy with this in exchange for £300 in my pocket, as I'm confident that I can stream any/all of my data when I need it thanks to unlimited data and good coverage where I need it.
If you absolutely can't live without a local copy of all your stuff, then I guess the Nexus is not for you.

never hurts to be prepared eh?
I probably could dump a lot, but if I have the storage why leave it empty, I won't be going backwards. I'm on the road a lot and although I have unlimited data on my iPhone I don't on my iPad, plus 70% of my year is out of country, streaming is out of the question.
Never had a problem using "tethering" on my HTC Desire, but iPhone-loving family can't do it, despite using the same network. Is this an Apple vs. Android thing, or have I just been lucky?

Tethering has been a great feature for Android phone to tablet or pc. Just yesterday I was having a dinner out at a countryside restaurant, my wife needed to reply an work email promptly, her S3 on Vodafone didn't have signal so she tethered to my EE Note 3
She could have just used your note ??
My mother has just inherited the original iphone off bro in law / my sis. I was attempting to get it to tether with playbook I got her
It wouldn't, only by usb I think. I assumed the later versions would work though. ( she will get handed down next incarnation in a few weeks.
No problem tethering to my Sony Ray. This was in France and I was using vodafone euro travelet

Apple and the network providers for some unknown reason won't allow you to tether an iPhone to anything including iPad's without incurring some form of cost to the user.
I think (although I may be wrong) that it was to encourage sales of 3G iPad's, as if you could just tether your iPad to your iPhone then you'd have no need for a 3G enabled iPad.
I can't say I tried tethering an Apple product to an Android product (or vice versa) when I had handsets and tablets of both OS's so I don't know if it's possible in any combination.
If the Apple policy has changed then I'll apologise in advance.
