Thing is , you can bounce the Red line on your CTR VTEC , it's just noise , with no power push ,

I hit the red line for about two secounds in the subaru power shut of on the redline car slowed up for a second ,the civic bounces of the red line I dnt do it everytime I give it sum but it happens makes a crasy noise and then you take off next gear there not the fastest but they can take some ****e for sure and the revs are crasy more towards the red line the faster it goes the subaru however as with alot of turbos slows up toward its rev limit I should of changed earlyeir I no but in the heat of the moment acedently hit limiter but surely it should cope

The problem is Steve, the OPs lack of any punctuation or proper grammar makes his posts so difficult to read that some of us give up before we're able to understand what he's talking about. I agree it's not something to be ridiculed though.

He's clearly had bad luck and ended up with two blown engines, and we all sympathise with him I'm sure. After that, I'm sadly at a loss as to what it is he's hoping to gain from this topic.

Wig,
My statement was to put in to context about Subaru engines...... or any engine for that matter.

Take for instance my newage 2ltr JDM engine. Untouched original engine and it's dealing with 490bhp. You get the right car, engine and modifications... Scoobs can be truly awesome imo.

If you had something like my set-up your Honda mates would be very very silent.

Hope your new engine lasts.... although I'd personally be getting an engine built / rebuilt by a Subaru specialist. You pay for what you get in this game and crate engines tend to be pot luck.

As the second poster in this thread I've been watching it and it took the predictable direction of the Scoobynet version of bear baiting back to some normality.
The fact of the matter is, the poster struck a raw nerve with some people, suggesting that the Subaru engine was perhaps, a bit delicate! The fact of the matter is, certainly in WRX form, it's not the strongest engine out there and the 2.5 is hardly fit for purpose. Quite a few people derided the CTR as low on torque and reliant on revs (Hmm....rather like a F1 engine!) but there's no denying it's a rather nice engine? Take the turbo off the Subaru engine and what have you got? (answers on the back of a postage stamp to....)
Wig......Other than the fact that you should have got the 2 ltr STi do as suggested and get a forged component re-build along with sensible mods and you should have a nice combination, just don't rev it like it's the Honda lump!

490 bhp bet its crasy power yea I had some quotes from tuners four grand to rebuild in forged parts plus that didn't ad power then there's turbo injectors fuel pump boost solenoid biger intercooler up pipe down pipe exaust then there's handling, and brakes plus gearbox is five speed and made by Cadburys , I would rather cut my loses and buy a sti it would be cheaper and better

im confused here.
so are you repairing it or selling it and getting an sti??

on another note a cheap rebuild done by a non suburu specialist will end up as anothe notch on your blown engine bedpost.

. I agree you're talking sense I no what these cars are like I wanted a sti from the start but settled for the wrx I'm not saying subaru wrx are all bad just there not a true strong engine like the k20 v tec millions of v tec motors have been produced and not one has failed within warenty period subaru has a staggering amount I love the subaru and evo and all sorts of cars I no what reliability is like and I took my gamble I've had m3 and m5 with the legendary vannos issues I mean they all can go wrong but I think subaru could of done a bit better at building some of there cars the models after the blobs are terrible they should be taken to court for it all and people should be compensated

Lol it's going in national engines Tomorow for prob a secound hand engine or block , its being picked up fixed and returned fixed for 1400 , i no it's not the best option but I don't want to chuck money at it its only a wrx like I said if I go forged engine I mite aswel go for a sti and trade it with the engine gone plus still no garentee on a forge build and I got a year garentee for 1400 , there's people out there that's had a good rebuild payed good money and 12 k miles later still failed I don't want that to happen

I couldn't rebuild a Subaru engine myself for £1400, least ways not properly. I suppose it depends how you define properly

It dnt matter year guarantee I no all about them read the reveiws some good , some bad and the end of the day it's just a engine I could pay 2.5 grand for a full build and it could still go plus no warranty with these engine builders tuners
