Stupid question time again im afraid.

I have a 97 my car and have a multi lock fitted to the inside of the original plastic gator to the chasis.From looking at the photos the only way to make it fit is to cut away some of the metal from the left hand side.Does anyone else have this problem and is there a way to get around it without cutting and shutting?

i might have the same problem as well, i have had a look at it , it looks like it has to be cut or take the multi lock out, or does anyone else know some thing different.
