Yeh but no so much for the Subaru community with crap advice and people being ripped off, It's all downhill I'm afraid, I can't be arsed with him anymore, He wouldn't give me a straight answer as to why he was bias towards some posters and not others and thought it would be easier to delete the thread.

Hi Steve

its worrying that the new wave of impreza owners want pieces of crap like that.

as for the Jackson Pollock comment welsh chap, I doubt any of the users on there would have any clue who he was, most can't even string together a proper sentence.

It's an unfortunate side effect as the cheapest Impreza Turbos are under the grand mark now. Although my one was cheap and I can be a bit of a chav and will defend my dump valve to the death for every one of me there must be a hundred nobbers that haven't got a clue.

I found someone who does, so I must be on the right side of the mountain

Getting back to the serious side though your comments do highlight the current generation gap. My grandparents thought my parents were unruly because they liked Rock 'n' roll, my parents were worried because we were into Heavy Metal and Punk yet the world evolved and moved on.

All youngsters are 'rebellious'.
As for the comment about judo-chops, I remember Norman Tebbit telling an MP to 'go and have a heart attack', so it's not a new thing of the next generation.

However we didn't have the ready availability of cars. We worked hard to get one, and it was our pride and joy. You couldn't/wouldn't really go fast enough in one to do terminal, even significant, damage.

Today an 18-year-old can acquire a heap like that, get in it and think they are the greatest thing since sliced bread, until tragedy accepts the invitation they send and walks into their lives.

Try advising them and you get illiterate abuse in a strange language.

The real tragedy is that often it isn't their funeral, but some other poor unfortunate.

Thanks for the service anyway.
It was never going to be long before 'infiltrators' would be sussed, especially with their agents sniffing about on here.

What annoys me is that the prime concern of most of the contributors seems to be street cred 'I know more than you/my car's dun up betta'.
It's not about constructive comments, it's destructive ones.

I once had a bunch of chavs try to outrun me.
I couldn't believe it - a fellow scooby owner trying to take another on.

Looks like that's moved to t'Internet.

"It's not about constructive comments, it's destructive ones."

Thats what makes it so bad. That people will listen to the "advice" given when it is completley incorrect. Will the advice giver pay for an engine rebuild after someone has followed his advice.

Seriousley tho i think a proper page should be set up for people to be able to ask advice on. Some people might not want to join a community like this SNET for the sake of 1 question etc.

I'm still having some fun with them, why are they banning us all for trying to improve the collective knowledge?

It's a good idea but if you have people turning up and giving awful, unfounded advice then it's not much of a resource is it?

They want to be kings of their own domain, gain street cred for owning a JPM scoobie-dooooooo and even more for being able to appear to know something that no-one else does about them.

The latter is actually easier - simply talk inconceivably bad borax, no-one understands what you're on about and ipso facto you are a SubaGuru, more knowledgeable than anyone on the planet.

'Merv' missed his chance to usurp the champ.

Now, repeat after me............ "has the engine undergone its primary discombobulatory transmogrification inspection prior to tamping wopple replacement?"

I've picked up on their collective knowledge and started spreading such advice to their members. I'm advising a chap with a two tonne newage WRX how to make his car do a standing quarter in the claimed 8.8 seconds. I reckon he needs to lose 1650Kg and fit a VTA dump valve

I take it you have told him that the weight needs to be kept in proportion, so equal ratios all round, so he'll have to strip the engine as well (He can manage without it, as long as he leaves the turbo intakt of corse).

Anyone got another 3 space saver wheels ?

Perhaps he was thinking a stationary 0.25 Km, given they're taught in metric these days (despite us winning the wars).

(In fact, that wouldn't be far off. 8.8 for 250m is a tad over 14 for a 1/4 if my Maths is right.)

The only thing that surprises me is you lot are still bothering with this guy and his fb page.

Just let the retards be, they will learn the hard way, the sooner they all blow their engines the better, and then they will get out of the marque sooner.
