That'll be an apexi power fc with the commander. Good news, as it means its been mapped at least.

If there is proof of the work, receipts and a dyno graph then for £2500, snap it up.
Clutch wise, some do take the engine out but ive found it easier to just drop the box. Its not hard but best to take it to someone whos done imprezas before.

engine out or gearbox yeah. tbh engine out ain that bad if your doing diy on drive. thats how i did my clutch. cost me 150 quid for a exedy one and a bit of elbow grease.

Well i've done it both ways on the drive and engine out is by far easier than the box off and it's quicker too, working under the car on your back is a pita, I can get the engine out in an hour and a half no problem, though it did take me about 4hrs the first time, but I took a load of stuff off that didn't need to come off and did loads of faffing, and you only need about 3 spanners and a socket set, engine hoist and a jack to do it on your todd, loads of guides on utube.
oh and a torque wrench.

Different story if you have a 4 post lift though.

I still say box off is easier, but then i do have access to a ramp :-)
