Your problem is with what exactly?

Nobody hates the media more than me, I refuse to buy or even read a news paper, the fact is it's happening, everywhere, now!
You hate the whole of the media?

My problem is you state these towns are getting over run like it's fact. It's not as over run is a subjective term. Maybe they are, maybe they're not, but as James says she didn't exactly articulate any real argument... she just blubbed emotionally probably as she has been sold the 'Jonny Foreigner' line by reading the likes of the Daily Mail (or Scoobynet ). What we need are facts, numbers, proof of services at breaking point because of the immigrants so we turn to the press..... but no, the Daily Mail just rants with no facts, figures or even genuine substance, just conjecture and opinon loosely dressed and presented as if it were fact. All designed to stir up the average man and woman on the street against the common enemiy... the immigrants! It's pathetic and lowest common denoiminator writing! It's working though

So basically your saying we 'don't' have any kind of problem with immigration and every thing's hunky dory?

Just about all of them really. I know there are still some creditable ones around but I still don't buy them or read them.

Now come on, you're a clever chap so stop playing dumb.

Re-read my post and look at the bits that say 'maybe, maybe not' and the 'what we need are facts, numbers, proof of services at breaking point because of the immigrants' etc. etc.

I'm open to the concept that maybe we have problems in some areas but I need evidence not a load of bigoted conjecture spouted by the disgusting rags masquerading as excuses for newspapers and their hardcore readership.

I heard an article on an evening R4 show a couple of weeks ago that said that Boston has had the highest influx of migrant workers in the whole of the UK. The reporter there said that the the town had had a huge influx of eastern european's and it had changed the town almost beyond recognition within 5 years.

It was due to the 'migrant crop pickers' they are being shipped in wholesale to work in the fields.

So there probably is more to this than just a 'hysterical' headline F1_fan.....

So what? Changed in what way? For the better or wrose? Judged by who?

All questions that could and should have been answered by that Daily Mail article, but far easier to write bigoted manipulative nonsense. After all everyone here seems to believe it without even questioning it!

Just how are we (the normal plebs of society) supposed to come up with such evidence? Even the Government don't know and if they did they probably woulden't tell us any way.
I do know I have to wait on average two weeks for a Doctors or Dentists appointment nowadays where as before I could have got an appointment on the same day (if I phoned first thing in the morning) or the day after.
Is this just a coincidence that all these foreigners coming ties in with the shortage of Doctors/Dentists appointments?

How can you even pretend that this isn't happening F1, I know it's happening and I don't need a news paper to tell me so.

We have met, we spoke when you were canvassing for votes in Welwyn Garden City.

I'll look to you to express my concern at the highest level as a matter of urgency.

If there isn't a clear policy broadcast nationally to state that the UK is not going to accept the EU policy on immigration before the floodgates open then I have no choice but to switch from being a lifelong conservative voter to voting for UKIP or some such party.

I'm a moderate person. If I am feeling this way and am considering this change in vote then there must be many thousands in Welwyn Hatfield who feel the same.

Yet another blo*dly whinger! Too mean to pay a few more quid to go on funding me and a few of my new mates.

And what’s with the ‘can’t afford to keep a roof over your head’ sh*te? If you sold that gas-guzzling, wallet-shredding 2004 Impreza, and bought a Nissan Micra and a decent tent you’d be fine.

If you weren’t so freaking moderate I’d suggest you skip those UKIP nutters and go straight for the BNP. At least I’d get a decent repatriation wedge to set me up somewhere nice and sunny.

Get a grip, mate!

Where am I pretending anything? All I am asking for is some proof.

Here is a precise example in reverse of what you are doing.

You say you have to wait 2 weeks for a doctor's appointment whereas here where I live I can ring at 8am and get an appointment that day. NHS surgery not private or anything. Now 10 years ago I couldnl't do that. I would wait on average 5 days unless it was an emergency.

So that's an improvement and I must admit I have seen some Muslims in the area, they weren't here 10 years ago. Hmmm it must be because of them I can get a quicker appointment nowadays... we should allow more in.

The fact that it's because the surgery was exapnded and reorganised is besides the point

So maybe the reason you can't get appointents quickly any more is becuase of those nasty immigrants or maybe it's because of a number of other factors... still easy to blame it all on the immigrants whether you know that to be fact or not!

Well my surgery is still the same as it was years ago unless you count a coat of paint as a expansion. To me it's too much of a coincidence.

BTW you don't know where I live or just how many Eastern Europeans have moved here into this small town. This place is like mini Poland nowadays.

I may do as it happens

I think the issue with Boston is that traditionally it's been one of those places where it was rare to see someone of a different nationality. I moved from Merseyside to Lincolnshire some years ago - Merseyside obviously big mix of races; huge Chinese and black communities, not uncommon to see someone wearing robes etc.
Lincolnshire being the complete opposite, apart from small pockets in certain areas, very rare to see someone who wasn't white English. For an example a couple who had been placed under fatwa (she was muslim, partner wasn't) were sent to the town next to mine because it was deemed by the police to be the safest nationally as there are so few muslims living there and so less chance of them being found.

So for people living in Boston the last few years would have seen their town changing drastically; it's not a city it's a small place, if the change had been more gradual I doubt there would have been such an issue. It's just been this relatively quickly large change in the culture of the town.

We have the same local news programme they do. Tonight they did give numbers and statistics. They also interviewed a Polish lady who said there was a problem; she said the schools, GPs etc are struggling to cope. Boston hospital is overloaded, especially the maternity unit.

I'm not saying some areas haven't got issues Dunk, but you can't fight politicians with arguments like 'it feels like we're over run'. You know how slippery they are!

If you really want to make them have to respond get the figures for the population change, show that the area is suffering because of it and the indigenous locals are worse off for it and present it to your MP and demand a written answer you can publish. That way they can't wriggle out of what they have said.

The previous government were weak on immigration and this one is no better, but they are very good at brushing any questions aside, make them answer ones backed up with facts that they can't just gloss over!

OK then well as above, someone needs to collate those and give them to the local MP with a load of questions they can't wriggle out of.

It's not Wisbech is it?

I haven't looked at the census data but the figures bandied about by the media are 30-35% migrants in a population of 20k
