XR3i or Fiesta RS Turbo

I was unfortunate to have had a Fiesta RS Turbo from new, the most unreliable car i have ever owned, in cold weather the boost cut was so severe it sheared the puny basic Fiesta engine mounts, snapping rear anti roll bar brackets, every time the heated screen was used it fried the alternator, most annoying thing was if you travelled up the motorway for any distance, then went at lower speeds the car would shudder & surge as it only wanted go at the previous speed, you had to switch the ignition off then onto erase any previous settings, & the ABS when activated would fire the stereo out the dash such was the horrendous vibration, never bought a modern Ford since, give me my MK1 RS2000 rallycar anyday.

I'm finally moving to a house with a double garage, which is giving me a serious itch to buy an oldish Ford for the odd bit of fun.
Both of these where cars I really wanted as a youth, but never got around to owning ( I did have the RS1800 and a S2 RS Turbo)
My heart is telling me to go for the XR but my brain is saying something with a turbo will be more fun...
Any thoughts guys?
I would consider other similar cars but it needs to be from the same era.

With that list I take it you're coming back to Essex??

Wiring loom is the major work in doing that. And to answer the earlier question the escort s2 rs turbo does have an LSD box. I sold my last rs over a year ago but i kept my spare engine, ecu, set of leads and plugs, headlights and front clear indicators just in case lol

Iirc the S1 turbo had the LSD box and not the S2?? Eitherway great cars. I had both back in the day, not to mention a small & large turbo escort cosworths. Tho that was a long time ago & no wife & kids!

I had a mkI xr2 as my first car and it was lovely...then a couple years later a 16V xr2i...really not too shabby at all.
iirc the 2.3 from the Galaxy fits into mkIII Fiestas...

Both had lsd the s2 got the shockingly bad abs that did not work lol the fiesta turbo got no lsd, i ended up sticking a s2 escort box in mine as it had terrible traction as was far from standard, boxes were weak as hell tho lol
