I do still have some BF Yes, overjoyed with the results!!! The thing that worked this time, was the diet! I have never been able to stick to high protein diets, the balanced diet works well for me. I use myfitnesspal.com to track my food, annoying, but very helpful!
This is the leanest I have ever been and not bad for 33 (well 34 in 5 days), but I have no idea on strength training! The strength I have has been obtained from climbing or other sports...

Take rest days often . I've only recently got over a completely busted immune system through lack of rest. A year of being ill almost non stop having won a tri, done well in others, come top 5 in some big 10k races, weird strength challenges, etc.
Been fine for three months after taking proper rests ( had loads of blood tests as I thought I had caught something nasty!)
Apparently many fall into the similar "fit but f**ked" category.

It's strange as when I was only doing cardio, I had no problem with twice a week.
Now I have introduced weights, I really enjoy it. As soon as I jump out of bed in the morning, I now do 30 press ups.
I spent about 45 minutes concentrating on bicep curls and tricep extensions last night.
I may just go for a short run tonight, say around 3 miles and leave it at that for today.

while the morning pressups are good for a feeling of well being, get you energetic in the morning, a wee burst of endorphines and will burn some kcals.
its not really a structered training or strength programmme, and unlikely to yeild gains you may be after?
to grow muscle tissue and subsequently strength, you must train with increasing resistance, breaking down micro fibres in your muscle tissue - then with the hutrients you get through a good diet and enough rest to let the repair of the tissue to take place is a simplified version of the process.
theres so so many variables along the way its unimginable, hence a trial and error system tends to be best. genetic varience and resposne to training food and sleep all vary greatly form person to person,, nevermind the othe myriad of influencial factors.
you dont need to eat sleep, live like abb but take some of there well proven techniques and apply to yourself as you see fit, then assess and adjust as necessary

Well that nearly 4 weeks now and I can certainly feel and see the difference.
I could only do 25-30 press ups in one set to start with, now up to 45.
I also dug out my old pull up bar this weekend and have been using that daily too.
Ordered my weights last night, pick up on Saturday, just got to sort out a bench.
Was thinking something like this:

Even the mrs said we can turn our spare bedroom into a home gym!
Wish I'd got into training again years ago!

Must have strained it or something. All good now though after a few days of leaving my press ups and just concentrating on bicep and tricep exercises with free weights.

Funny you should mention that but about a week ago, I went a bit made on the press ups and did 200 in a day. For the next 2-3 days I couldn't do anymore but not because of my chest or arms hurting (in fact the scary thing is they didn't ache at all!), but my lower stomach! I tried doing one press up the next day and it felt like I had given myself a hernia.

I was always fairly fit from 15/16 put this all went to shot when I got an office based job 5 years ago! I will review what I want to do in the new year.
But I can see me sticking to it.

To be honest, I'm using the first 6 weeks as chance to get my body back into shape.

The improvement in appearance is just the icing on the cake.
So little time needed to make such a difference IMO.

Well after two months, I can really see and feel the difference.
Got my weights bench but to be honest, I have been concentrating on push-ups, pull-ups and sit-ups.
I could only do around 25 push-ups when I started until I fatigued, but now I can do 50!
Same goes for pulls ups. When I dug my pull up bar out, I could only do 5 pull ups! Yes, 5! Now I can 20.
Also, my body fat has reduced from 25% to 21%. My weight is the same.
Not used any protein powder yet, but I am going to move onto my bench soon and see how that goes. I have never felt this fit in my life!
Would recommend it to anyone.
