I got a big TMIC which made a big difference, but what did I go and do ? Turn the boost up (to 20 PSI) until I was back where I started. Hence the FMIC

time to get an even bigger turbo and push the 30psi threshold.

then you can get an even more frontier mount IC.

Would be very appreciated!

BTW Sorry for the hi-jacking

Question

Getting back to the intercooler splitter, 2 degC means nothing to me - what is this as a % reduction in charge temp (e.g. 5% reduction?) and how does this compare to say, a waterspray?

Or are they effective in different circumstances i.e. w/spray - when stationary, splitter - when in motion?

Sounds like a nice, cheap, DIY mod. Or I might just be lazy and buy one off Mike

For the technically minded try here ..........

I've tried to make it as simple as possible plus try the link to Peter Mc Alpine who did some testing

http://freespace.virgin.net/michael.ferries4/Splitter%20Background.htm

with regard to splitter vs waterspray..........no contest

they are best utilised .........TOGETHER....

using a little bit of inginuity you can add a couple of extra spray jets for the rear of the intercooler !!!!!!!!

regards

mike f.

P.s. I will endevour to help on this subject as much as possible...and freely but please be aware i hand make splitters (a one man outfit) i do not sell mass produced units or try and make sales by piggy backing on someones thread........(you know who you are !!)

Cheers Mike, that answers most of my questions. It appears an intercooler splitter can be almost as effective as a waterspray in reducing temps and when combined they seem compliment each other nicely.
