300-330bhp with amazing spool would be great.

That would be a really cool little turbo. Is it likely to have a bit more puff at the upper end than the standard unit?

All being well it should have, although spool is the name of the game with this one. Those wanting that bit more puff up top, may still be better served by the brilliant SC36.

Wow thanks for all the help guys it's very friendly on here and full of people in the know- not people just wanting their 50ps worth like some on the gt4oc. That's great news to my wallet that the injectors are already sorted. So just to clarify:

Panel filter
Fuel pump - make and where from?
Tdo4 hybrid, vf- later spec, or sc36

No need to change to sports cat??
300-320 on the standard tmic achievable?

And thanks for the handling tips I'll get in touch with the relevant people.

Walbro 255 pump in the tank will be sufficient for your tuning level and wont break the budget.

Panel filter wise I would stick with a good brand like K&N personally, or green. Have tried various others like Do-Luck but some the quality isn’t too good.

For your level of tune you may not even need the sports Cat. I fitted the 200cel more restrictive MOT friendly one on mine and it ONLY just passed MOT last time, but still passes! Lol. May be ok with the standard exhaust. Martyn better answer this one, I’m no expert!

This is the pump I bought. (Bargain)!

There is a really good fitting guide I also found online.

Sports cat isn't a bad idea, although I have ran stock cats at that level without issue.
I can supply you a Deatschwerks 340lph pump delivered to your door for £141.67 inc vat.

V interested in the fuel pump mate how come you're getting rid?

If I'm honest I think I'd switch to sports cat as it'll help the power a bit more and give a nicer sound. I'm happy with the prodrive back box though so will leave that as I don't want it too loud.

Think the exhaust is standard, bar the prodrive back box, and has 550 injectors as well.

so why uprate the pump then ? if its just a generic wrx uprated map ?

well mine was a 03 PPP (now 450) but when i remapped mine i got told to swap the 255 as the car was 5 years so even if it did have a 255 is it not worth changing just incase for the sake of 55 quid ?

steve

Default GB270 mods

Pikey, how did you get on?

I'm currently trawling the GB270 posts as I'm thinking of getting one next.

I've currently got an '02 WRX wagon. It's got standard turbo, intercooler, fuel pump, the lot.
All I've done is put a Cosworth filter panel in, Roger Clark Motorsport down cats, de-cat centre pipe, and a H&S 2.5" back box (smaller than most).
A Zen re-map later and its running 270BHP/270ft.lb

I'd have thought that with a larger capacity GB270, you should be getting pretty close to 290BHP with the same options.

Let us all know

Thought I'd chip in here.

Just had my GB270 wagon modified with the following;

H&S 2.5" decat
Cosworth panel filter
NGK long reach plugs
STi TMIC
VF43 turbo
Fuel Regulator
ECUTEK Andy Forrest remap with RACEROM

STi undertray on it's way, as is my GB350 boot badge.

350bhp/370lb/ft

Brakes are next. Got black Brembo front calipers from hatch to go on it once they're painted and then some Whiteline goodies after that.

Also got the GB270 leather interior which I'll be getting round to putting in shortly.

VERY happy with car. Window down at every opportunity to hear it burble. Lovely!

Gb270 just has a std pump on it. It should be be okay up to 300bhp so as long as keeping the std turbo it should be fine if it is in good working order. Still worth upgrading to a walbro ifor peace of mind though IMO.

Considering its only £75 for a genuine walbro and its relatively simple to fit I'd say its well worth upgrading. As Duncan says!
