Alright guy's,

Just an update for you.

I have the booking form from Castle Coombe for this event and it goes like this :

We can have a stand which they will give us 12 car passes with a free admition pass for the driver, any passengers within those cars or additional cars over the amount of 12 will need to pay for the additional admission pass.

Costs for these admission passes are :
If passes are purchased before 31st March, they cost £8 for each, child or adult

If passes are purchased after 31st March, they cost £10 for each, child or adult

If anyone wants to go on the track, the costs are the following :

If purchased before 31st March, they cost £25 for each session

If purchased between 1st April to tthe 20th April, they cost £30 each session.

Sooooooo, my idea is to book the 12 free spaces along with an extra 3 passes to bring the club stand to a total of 15 cars.

There will be 2 spare passes as I'll be having the other pass for my 2nd car which I'll pay upfront for these. If anyone else wants to attend later on, they can purchase these from me at the reduced rate of £8 before or after the 31st March it doesnt really matter.

Hope that sounds all okay, let me know if you have any questions.

Matt

I know from a previous few trips there, that the club I was in split up into regions and each "club" got its own allocation of 12 tickets, so no need to pay to go if over the 12

If there was someone doing the same then I`d be up for it.

I'll check with Castle coombe to see if payment can be made directly to them but as for the doc's, all you need is your driving licence.

As long as the car looks to be upto the MOT standards, that is fine, oh and of course it passes the noise regulations.

Good point actually, i didnt think of that. You also have a choice of parking next to a club of your choice as well.

Just gotta find someone to organise this quickly now.

Yeah we used to do it all the time, put your name for the second club but call it something slightly different.

How strict are they on noise? And how can you test it? Thanks

Castle coombe are very strict on noise. I think the limit is about 98/99 decibels.

They test by keeping a constant rev of about 4krpm and standing back by about a meter using a noise reader, unless you have one, its pretty hard

They keep a stack of noise suppressors there iirc, but my advise is to speak to a local exhaust specialist and ask them to make you one. Usually only held on by a bolt or 3, and if your in the habit of going on track, then you can use it more than once.

Thanks for the advice all, I suppose the suppressor is to make the exhaust smaller on the end and restrict noise?

Sounds good, how do they work then? Just make the tailpipe smaller and restrict the noise? Anyone got a pic of one ?

If you google exhaust bung on images I'm sure you will find it .
It fits into the tip of the exhaust pipe and makes the diameter smaller ...
Usually held on by a screw under the tailpipe
