we have a tesco and a shell within a mile or so of each other so use both on my wifes classic and my 55 plate Blob STI and have no problems with either , at the moment tho we are using tesco as the numpties refurbished the shell and buggered up the new V power tank when they put it in and they still havnt fixed it yet and that was about 18 months ago but when i get the chance to put V power in i do fill them up so it normally a mixture of both in the tanks .

I've asked this same question in the MSOC a month or two back. Personally I use Tesco's momentum wherever possible because (i) is cheaper (ii) have noticed I get more MPG (iii) car runs just right with it.
V-Power is most peoples first choice and personally I have noticed a better burst of power using V-Power than momentum but find no problem using either fuel types.

When i bought my prodrive scooby it had V power in the tank and pulled like a train. V power pumps are about 8 miles away from me so i use Texaco 97 high octane. Massive difference on full throttle or open throttlle quick as car jerks a bit, but drive it steady and let the boost slowly build and it drives fine. Im going to time it to empty my tank and make the trip to the V power station 8 miles away and fill the tank in future.

I use either as the Shell is literally down the road and Tesco about 1 1/2 miles
Very little difference between the two although the car was mapped using Shell.
The last rolling road run was using Tesco and the three back to back runs were clean and det-free on an ambient temp of mid-upper 20's still using the top-mount.

Phew, thought I'd been sucking too many exhaust fumes and was imagining it. It really does seem to do more and louder. Mine was mapped with tesco 99 in the tank purely because I live near a tescos but I never hesitate putting v power.

I've been using momentum since buying mine in may but last night I filled up with v power and tbh I can feel a slight difference in power delivery, might convert to v power from now on!

my wifes MY00 wagon which has PPP fitted used to run like a dog on the old tesco 99 but it goes just as well now on Momentum as it does with V POWER so i think they have changed the formula

Having now had some decent seat time in mine now I can safely say I yhink mine runs best with Tesco Momentum. I've used pretty much every super plus fuel that we have locally and prefer both the Shell and the Tesco ones. Tesco pips it for me though. Could all be in my head tbh but car definitely feels best on it

Shell has dropped to around 210 to a tank
Tesco Is around 290 to a tank and seems a lot louder and pickup is so much more savage.
Mine's mapped on v-power but run's better on Tesco 99, I did wonder if shell changed anything for a winter Blend ??

I believe they are the same fuel with maybe the shell having more additives.Does anyone really think that Tesco have there own fuel plant that makes 99 ron fuel? I doubt it very much.Tesco must buy there fuel off shell surely? Anyone that says they can feel a big difference between the two is talking through there butt dyno.

I'm Glad it's not just me that's thought this. I thought I was going nuts.

Are you for real, you're getting 80miles more per tank using tesco fuel.......
Im a huge sceptic with regard to this subject. I do not believe its possible to notice a difference in the cars performance when swapping between momentum and v-power.
I've seen threads on here where people have changed from tesco fuel to V-power and reported the car felt better on v-power and returned better mpg which is the complete opposite to reports on this thread.
If, like the above comment, you can get 80 miles more per tank and better performance using tesco fuel then shell would be out of business.
