Played 3 or 4 rounds now, it just feels like Bad company 2 with a bit less polish IMHO

they did have an apc at least on the alpha

there is a 64 player map that runs with passwords (casipern border afaik)
and they released the password on twitter for a day
i missed it mind

 

This is the whole reason I brought a console. At least if you buy a game for the ps3 you know it's going to work unlike a PC game these days. Pain in the *** I think it's quite good not sure about the choice of beta map but I like it.

Can anyone tell me if you can mute other players on PS3. Just played 25 min game with some french chap waffling the entire time. Did my nut in.

Lots of glitches in the scenery. Stay clear of the craters as you just seem to sink into the ground and cant get out unless you suicide.

 

Enjoying it a bit more but I think just the new novelty factor. More and more bugs every time I play tho.

-Sometimes when you respawn its dark
-Sometimes cant shouder/site your weapon

 

The bug when you respawn with your gun with no site / tactical light is annoying !

 

I was in the closed Alpha a month or so ago and it was pretty rubish then, the main thing i hated was Origin, just completely needless!

Steam is a proven platform that every PC gamer has already, who wants another (far worse) system aswell...

The game was clunky and frustrating in the Alpha, i've not downloaded the Beta yet but probably will in a day or so.

My hopes of it being a modern version of BF2 are pretty much dashed

 

I think it's great! Just like all battlefields when you first start at lvl 1 with a lame gun it's hard.

Now I'm lvl 9

I got a few good guns and it's much better also Its more of a team game (play as a squad)

In all apart from the Glitchs I love it ! Ps3 few'

Im lvl 14 but some are like 42+ already

Got 47 kills in one 25 mins game last night. Defending sat outside the station and just picking them off 2 at a time as they rushed out of the doors lol. Nice to get a knife kill but it takes so long you normally get spotted by another enemy and taken down.

My only experience of BF games before was 2142 on the PC and tbh it feels like a game that should be on PC with all the diff buttons and options.

Im still concerned how buggy it is less than 1 mth from release.

Anyone know if there will be a MW3 demo? Be interesting for comparison but Activision probably think they have it sewn up and dont need one. Doubt the BF3 demo has done any favours for EA.

 

Downloaded the PS3 version last night and have been playing okay.
Pretty cool that red dot gun sights blind you when shone in your eyes........ I always seem to die about 2s later!

 

Lol the tactical light is a good one that's blinds the hell out of the enemy lol!

Played it on Xboxlast night, I found that a few times when crawling prone with a sniper rifle I dropped out of the bottom of the map completely and just like I was floating in sky, hope they sort these issues, I have it pre ordered and will still buy it, I will have this and MW3, completely different play styles for me

I've pre ordered but I hope that the full game is better than the beta. Only a few weeks to wait anyway.

 

My first impressions of the PS3 beta were not good. I thought the graphics were poor and there are loads of bugs. Stuck with it though and now I love it, hopefully the bugs will be sorted before release. Not cancelled my pre-order.

 

Its grown on me a bit too. The bugs are annoying. Yesterday I was on about 3rd game and everywhere you walked outside you seemed to be waist high in the ground and had to climb back into the map.

Find it hard to snipe. The friendlies have the far better sniper rifle imho. The UMP 45 seems way overpowered as well.

Is quite good the teamwork required to win the Metro map. Im still not sure exactly how it works in terms of how long the defending team have to successfully defend their targets before they win.

Should be a lot better with vehicles and aircraft. I may well pick it up and see how I get on before MW3 comes out a few weeks later.

Btw what is the diff with the special edition as it seems to be the same price anyway?

 

And I will ask again - does anyone know how to mute other players? Ive searched through all the menus and cant find anything. I had to quit a game yesterday as some chap just had feedback on his mic and drove me insane.

 

Special edition comes with the return to karkand map pack for free as far as I know, not sure how you mute people though.

 

I don't believe the mute option is actually avaliable till the full game release as it's a 'minor' consideration at the mo they just want to get the MP playing properly,I just turn the sound down on my mic.

P1Fanatic the defenders win when the 100 tickets allocated to the attackers are lost but obviously everytime they destroy both targets and move on to the next set,they then get the ticket total put back upto 100.

 

I've been playing it more too, getting into it now in a big way, i found to mute players i'm just plugging a headset into the cntroller and not wearing it and turning the headset volume right down, not ideal but I had a game earlier where a guy was constantly whistling, drove me mad

 

I will say now after playing it for a while it's just so much fun now once you actually get stuck into the game it's very entertaining.

 

I've found recently that there seems to be less bugs than when I first started playing too, not had any dropping through scenery recently, I read on another forum that the beta we are playing is not the most up to date version but is about a month old, not a great advert for the final product but hasn't put me off.

Caspian Border map is unlocked all weekend on the PC

LOADS of 64 player servers up.....

After initially not being that impressed with the beta, this Caspian map has changed my mind, awesome.

 

They are stress testing the servers this weekend. i got the email asking for as many people as possible to get on and give it some hammer

 

if they wanted to get some ppl on they should open caspian sea back up :|

 

They have on the PC, this weekend was the 64 player stress tests.

Played a few games/servers and suffered lag on one of them, but the server was AUS if i remember rightly

I also pressed the wrong key and ejected from a jet in the air, dohhh.

Are there servers for the consoles version or just p2p? Must admit it finds a game as soon as click your button - one of the better features.

Im really liking it now (I know I said otherwise at first but I can admit I was wrong) and like someone else said a lot of the earlier bugs are not occurring now which is strange as Ive seen no update patch.

Think Im rank 31 or 2 by now. Seen some chaps at 42 and others with wings that says 2, 3 etc underneath so assume they are 50+ ranks? Will be gutting to lose my progress & weapons but looking forward to some more maps and using vehicles.

Really makes you work as a team to win.

Still the most annoying issue for me is the lack of a mute button for comms. I have to quit a game just for relief.

 

Managed to play it for the first time last night. I'm really enjoying it. Managed to stay positive on all the games I played, currently Rank 2 lol.
