You are a bell end.

I've been on SN for nearly 10 years, but your highlighted post wins the least intelligent post I've ever read.

Well done. The ***** badge is in the post.

As Puff says, we live near each other - happy to join you for beers locally if you do come over for a local tour- and it's very well placed for commuting to City airport or into the centre whether by car or DLR/train or whatever.

I've lived all over London - Bethnal Green, Highgate, Hampstead, Fulham, Kew, Kensington, Clapham, Wood Green, Mile End, Forest Hill, Blackheath, etc. A wide range of North and South of the river.

In my 30 year + experience of London the only ones with real blind North/South prejudices, like Hodgy 02 above, are those who have only ever lived on one side or the other. Anyone who has lived on both sides will be more enlightened and will realize that there are great places and crap places both sides of the Thames and East / West. House prices for a similar house in a similar environment (e.g. Blackheath/Highgate) are generally circa 40% less in the South due to this innate prejudice though, which I was more than happy to take advantage of.

I live where I do now because I grew to hate the Tube living in North/West London and I get an overground train from any one of 3 different stations within a 10 minute walk of my house into the centre of London that takes around 12-15 minutes. I can also get a black cab/mini cab home late at night just as easily and for the same or less than when i used to live in Highgate/Fulham/Kensington etc

I am lucky enough to have a 5 bed house with a 150 foot garden 20 minutes from the centre of London - our kids go to a free state primary 200 yds from the house that came Number 67 out the 17000 schools in the UK last year and are surrounded by well maintained parks/the Heath as well as being a 10 minute stroll from the World Heritage site that is Greenwich. We are a 40 minute drive from the Eurotunnel (we went over to France for a day on the beach last Saturday for £56 return) and are ten minutes from the M25/ the country. I won't even begin to mention the restaurants/ music/theatre/film/ cultural world quality stuff that is a given in London every night of the week.

So it's not too bad here in London - so don't be taken in by the knee jerk reaction of "it's 5hite" there. These people are misinformed

Hey we don't let good honest facts get in the way of an internet forum flame war;

Had friends who lived in Richmond & Wimbledon - both seemed very pleasant places when we visited.

Mind you London is a DIFFERENT planet compared to the rest of the UK....
