The vast majority of the rioters don't know why they are doing it, how are we going to work out why they are?
What we didn't need is for London to call for Police from all over the country to come and join them fight to save the capital. Leave the rest of the country with half a force
and the looting will start everywhere else!

They want to get those nice big red Airport fire trucks that spray thousands of gallons of foam. That should calm everyone down 
The worlds biggest foam party, then when the thugs are all partying the police go in and batter them with knight sticks, drag em off and lock them in the back of huge trucks. That will solve the custody problem until the police can take them all back to the nick for processing and summary execution.

I honestly think it is going to take an organized stand from the general public to sort this out. The Police cannot do this on their own.

Cheshire and Northumbria police are now on the streets of London. There's a regular flow (about 1 every 3 to 5 mins) of police vans going from Paddington Green police station, I guess they are using that as one of their operational bases..

If most of the good stuff has been looted, the only thing left to do is flight. With reports of all these extra bodies being drafted in, I hope this isn't even more of an attraction for the trouble makers to turn up spoiling for a proper fight.

If it is true that quite a lot of this has been organised via Blackberry Messenger (I doubt it .. but there you go) then it is possible for RIM to help relatively easily.
