Yes everything in my post his government have done other than the economy already faltering.

What's your problem understanding that you can only push people so far.

This has zip all to do with the guy being shot, that was just the straw that broke the camel's back. The country was like a tinderbox and now it's ablaze.

Believe you me I want it sorted as much as anyone and the army can come in and shoot them for me, but the reasons for it all are obvious and pretty much as I posted!

Its the reaction of the looters - one girl was asked by a journo who pretended to be a local 'why are you doing this..'

'to get our taxes back...'

does she not realise that the taxes being paid are having to pay for the police presence due to their actions oh and it would be good if she actually paid taxes, which i sincerely doubt she ever has.

These people are scum. They are taking homes & livelihoods. The police should be allowed to break out the rubber bullets, water cannons whatever it takes to get the little ****s under control.

My parents came to this country and 'bred', and both contributed considerably to both the health service and telecommunication industry, paid their taxes, never broke a law, got a speeding ticket etc... they also had 2 kids who have also never broken the law, have very successful careers and contribute considerable amount of revenue to the government and there are many more like us too.

I am utterly ashamed of and disgusted by what I've wittnessed over the pass few days; I believe that if you live by the sword, you die by the sword end of, the over PC of this country has now left the police with their hands tied! If this was Northern Ireland, the army would have been drafted in 'quick sharp', contained and apprehended those involved. However, now because this govenrment are caught up in the PC trap they are too scared for the world to see youths both black and white being tackled, water cannoned and potentially shot by the army!!

I actually agree with a lot of the comments on here but it's a bigger issue than race here, gang culture has been allowed to grow because the government and police are puss!es, the schools are powerless, and it's now illegal to smack your kids; people aren't scared to commit crimes in this country anymore because they won't get punished. As soon as stabbings, shootings etc became prolific in parts of the country the law should have come down HARD and stamped it OUT! Forget human rights, you infringe on another citizens' civil liberties, you should wave goodbye to your own. In the states if the police say stop and you don't, your @rse gets shot, end of, forget whether you had a gun, or replica etc.

Rant over with... lets hope that the goverments grows a pair and gets serious with these d!cks.
This unrest is nothing to do with race. They are purely about criminals, be that criminals causing damage, criminals stealing or criminals trowing missiles at Police. Using race as a reason for unrest is an easy option to escape from the fact that criminality is the real cause

I believe you are quite correct. Look at Birmingham kicking off, it is and excuse to riot. Very sad indeed.

Well news for you when you land David.... if you allow petrol prices to rise throught the roof, VAT to be ramped up, energy and food prices to spiral ever upwards, put in place a host of ther cuts that are poorly targetted and too much too soon, do nothing at all to promote economic growth other than talk a lot of hot air, hand the finances of the country over to a toffee nosed inept buffon and all that on an already faltering economy and then f**k off to Tuscany this is what you are going to get!

Then to make matters worse you have no army or police available to properly stop it as they were part of your great plan of budget cutting!

Reap what you sow Cameron!
Yes. I think many of the people on the streets are political activists who object to the Keynesian economic policy of the new-right and have strategically mobilised and highlighted their plight by burning down Greggs. Still, at least the sausage rolls will be warm.

What do they want, why is it always someone else fault ? the system cant support that number of people receiving that much in benefits, policing, community programmes and whatever, everyone is taxed to f*ck, I personally don't want to pay any more but I am not going to burn down the local Greggs and loot JJB sports, its all about the free stuff and to be part of something a bit naughty, how much do they want off the rest of society to stop burning the place down ?

I get sick of the bleeding hearts saying its disaffected youth, none of them are starving or homeless from what I can see, all look fit, healthy and well fed judging by the weight of the stuff they can lift onto a Police Car and how fast they can leg it, perhaps if they went to school and didn't treat it as "boring" and beneath them (as they will be the next superstar DJ, rapper, footballer, Xfactor winner, street dance crew) then maybe they may get a job, oh, but no, a job may affect benefits, a job may not pay as much and involve dragging their **** out of bed.

Never mind society letting them down, whether it has or hasnt they are letting society down now in a bigger way, a way that they can never, ever repay.

Agree with everything you say and as I said happy to see them gunned down in the street quite honestly, but the reasons they are rioting are as I said. Not making excuses for them at all!

At the other end of the scale I know of several biggish companies who are looking for ways to be 'economical' with their tax bills in a way they have never done previously as they are being squeezed too hard by taxation and rules and regulations to be able to grow as a busines.... that is their 'rioting' if you like.

The austerity cuts along with everything else are too much too soon and people are feeling the pinch and then some..... then they see money being wasted elsewhere and politicians behaiving like schoolkids and theose feelings start to boil over... the result is all the things you see around you including these riots.

Mark Duggen

This has nothing to do with him, other than an excuse. As someone commented - few of the looters will have even heard of him.

Still, all these kinds of events have a flashpoint.

It's the **** politicians that have run (ruined) this country in the last 15 years who are really to blame for this

F1, in my experience, if you find yourself asking what problem Jacko has with understanding something, then I think you need to step back and re-examine your own perceptions. Jacko's one of the most switched-on people on here. He always gets to the nub of an argument and has a great common-sense manner of summarising complex debates. Re-read what he's written.

Shoot the lot of them, regardless of colour. Mindless violence should be met with mindless violence.

Starting to get a bit closer to home now.

And I too respect and enjoy Jacko's posts, but on this point we may just have to disagree. He seemed to imply I was making excuses for the rioters when I am not, but I am sure of the reason they are rioting.... the girl mentioned in this thread said as much ... 'we want our taxes back' - well in simplistic chav speak admittedly , but you see what I mean!

You should sit in with Dave at that COBRA meeting in the morning.

I'm sure he would find your guidance invaluable...

They're mindless, under-evolved, broadly illiterate criminals who take their cues from anti-establishment rappers and see this as an opportunity to exercise their violent, tribal, animal-like instincts. That's what I think.

The ****ers are now kicking in private houses doors in Ealing and trying to loot them too.
Old woman on the news right now absolutely ****ting herself.

Gone far enough - they've really overstepped the line with all of this.
I'm utterly ashamed to be part of this country.

Saw newsnight on BBC2 eariler, the man being interview was just nonsense, and just trying to find excuses for the riot, he is not setting a good example for the younger generation, only if he can turn round and see what the police sees, no wonder the younger generation think like him.
