MY 2011 Saloon / Hatch, show yourselves! Pics & chat
I can hold back no longer, after 6 previous Scoobies all with spoilers I resisted the urge to do the same to my MY11 Sti (I decided I was getting too old for 'in your face' cars and have kept the Sti standard).
But looking at the pictures on this thread of the low level spoilers on some cars I think that mine would look better with one (mid life crisis !?!).
Where did you guys get your low level spoilers from ?
Cheers, Ian

I've got the low level and I'm after a swap for OEM so I can fit the high level spoiler.

Hi Mark,
No i dont mind you using a picture.
My sprayer said it was a pig to spray as it kept reacting
.In the end it was left to air dry and it was ok then,it's a good fit on the window and i think it looks oem .very pleased with the end result.
Cheers,
Geraint.

Yes we always recommend air drying urethane parts
love the look of that fitted with the small boot spoiler Geraint
, I will be getting one soon, but I will go see Mark at his place so I can hold it in place just to see what it looks like with the large boot spoiler fitted as I don't want it to look to much if you know what I mean......
Has anyone tried fitting Hawkeye alloys to their WRX STi Saloons or Hatches for that matter?
I'm thinking of getting a set to put some winters on.
The NASIOC Master Wheel thread says they are 8" wide with a +53 offset, so they will have slightly less poke when you stick them in a calculator.
I know the stud pattern and centre bore will be right, just wondering if they clear the Brembos OK?

Salsa is correct, basic spec hatch STI's come with the 17" rims and clear brembos fine.

Did any of you guys struggle to choose between hatch or saloon? Its driving me crazy! Planning on getting one next year, thought I was set on the hatch but keep edging towards the saloon. Practicallity isn't really an issue all comes down to looks.
I don't like the saloon with no spoiler, the big rear wing is a bit too much but I do like it and the small one with roof spoiler looks cool. I think the hatch looks good with the tail light overlays.
Just want to know how you guys made a decision as the saloon seems to be more popluar.

ive had both
practically Hatch is best.
head turns the saloon if done right. If your buying new hang in there for the new one, but if 2nd hand then the worlds ya oyster.
I dont have either now, i just couldn't gamble with an out of warranty time bomb... but theres a whole thread on that issue

but the boot on the saloon is not a great space.
Tony
I had a hatch and find the boot on the saloon just as practical. Plus the spec c suspension is light years better than the older hatch suspension. High level spoiler is the only one to have on the saloon IMHO.
No I wasn't gonna buy brand new looking to spend £20k ish so should get a decent 2011 for that money. As for warranty my dealer does £399 a year extended and said would cover ringland failure although he said after 2010 none have failed. Is this true as I have searched and only seen US ones failing no UK ones past 2010?
Is the boot really that bad on saloon? Not that I'm too bothered but can you fold the rear seats down?
As for the rear wing I'm not sure, I really like sniffmydiff's spoilers they are quite subtle but really suit the car. May go down that route, right colour as well

Don't take the Subaru extended warrantee it only cover items that make the car undriveable according to my dealer they advised against it.
Rear seats fold on the saloon 60:40.
Mine has done 53k not touched a drop of oil and will do 34 to gallon if driven gentle on A roads. Look out for rust on the boot and wing edges. Just had mine done on warrantee.
I would recommend a full geometry set up when you get it as all 4 of my wheels were out from dealer. Scoobyclinic sorted it and transformed the handling.

There has i think been 2 in the UK, but who and what they had done to them im unsure, remember Subaru no longer sell them new anymore, and they actually only sold 175 Saloons so the stats for us are never going to be big, that being said i think they kinda sorted the issue.
Look at the USA forums though and there popping like mad, but they have crap fuel COBB remaps.
I had mine for 30k miles and it never missed a beat, but i never tracked it i was a Bez from the lights man and the odd spirited drive.
I think for the money its where id probably go, but road tax was a **** at 465 a year, and the fact you can only use Super Unleaded added to the frustration.
I have 4 cars on my I want list
Mercedes CLA45
BMW 435D Xdrive
Audi A6 Bi-Turbo 313
BMW 335D Xdrive
All very fast and 4wd, BUT 35k +
Yeah the dealer I'm looking at buying from is autoecosse in dundee, they are a subaru dealer but they don't use subaru for their warranty as they had issues with them, think its through a company called MB&G.
Terzoscooby is yours standard? I'm looking just to get the 320r as I think that will do me, will be my daily driver so 34mpg is more than enough, granted i won't always get that but good to know its acheivable.

i think Marc you should get a 340R as this was the norm, 320s were the first remap, then they stopped at 340R exhaust is better.
yeah RWD personally i think its ****, i have a new E350 Merc and any kind of wet on the road and traction on, god help me when it snows, so glad its going next year. In my scooby it was ace nothing stopped me. I think RWD are only good for razzing round the Top Gear test track, in practice its ****
hence why my list are all 4wd
there is one car i would have but 10k outside ya budget

Yeah the rs500's are nice, I had a normal mk2 rs in white a couple of years ago, I bought it new over the hatch sti at the time. Great car but wouldnt buy another, great on a smooth dry road but any bumps or slightest bit wet and they suck. So not ideal for scottish roads haha!
Mine is 320r with the pro-r back boxes from 340r upgrade it's bang on 320bhp according to Scoobyclinics rollers. The 340r map is massively rich so kills the mpg. Having said that I went to North Wales a couple of weeks ago and got 20.1mpg on 500 mile round trip. Going to get mine decatted and remapped soon.
Had both, and both have their pro's and con's, would not have had another hatch after the last one only because I would not have two cars the same one after another, thankfully the saloon came out so I could stay with Subaru.
If you are going MY11 on then you will benefit by the spec C suspension and the darker interior.
Both great cars and the saloon feels bigger on the road.
