VF48 or VF43

Both are 370bhp turbos and very responsive. Neither suffer from surge unlike the VF35 which is a surge fest on some cars.

Wow was there any reason it was only 330? Should be getting nearly 400 on a 20g. I wouldnt be wanting lag with 330. Theres much better spooling turbos around for that sort of power

Yeah i had a vf35 on mine as standard as i just took it off and sold it, i hird the 48's crack but hadnt hird anything abotu the 43 other than it is very similar to the 48, i wanting a vf model turbo really, just see a 43 for sale and thought that would be a good upgrade and was seeing if it would run at 400 bhp of if i would have to get a td model

A vf43 wont do 400bhp I am afraid although it may get close to that on a race fuel or 20% meth mix.

Both the vf43 and the vf48 crack exhaust housings.

Sorry i meant it was that before, not sure what it ran with the 20g on it, it wasnt on there long enough to find out! The turbs didnt kick in till 5000rpm which was useless to me although when it did hit it really hit hard! My engine just didnt have the power to spool it up quick enough The VF35 seems ok so far though

About 4,200rpm a 20g should be properly boosting.

Maybe 4,000 with a harvy OEM ported uppipe/headers (and asumming a decat d/p?)...

VF35 is cheapest option out there which with supported mods will do 320-350bhp.

VF34 is great turbo and best suited for WRX with VF35/VF30.

VF34 is ball bearing turbo and spool fast almost like TD04,VF35 spool slower than VF34,but both are great turbo,on my WRX has made VF34 350bhp.

In real life VF34 is hard to beat by VF35,i've run mine and this turbo has been just amazing.

VF35 have slower spool, not massive, but have slower spool against VF34.VF30 will be again good option, but on VF35 problem is boost creep,if you are will go route of VF35 i would port wastegate...

The OEM TD05H is a 16g and it was only fitted as std to the early "phase 1" MY93-96 era cars.

To that end, then yes, it uses the std OEM single scroll flanges etc. So it will fit any EJ turbo engine sporting OEM pattern single scroll headers/uppipe, etc.

EDIT: But the OEM 16g's comp cover is top entry, so the 'snorkel' would need to be cut off to accept New Age cars' front entry turbo intake set-up. Or a proper front entry comp cover can be bought and fitted (from the likes of Andy Forrest).

If its converted to front entry, yes will fit and these turbos usually do 320-330bhp,great turbo for WRX

On classic is usually 90 degree TD05,IIRC

I will have a vf 35 for sale on Monday once it has been removed and inspected. It has only covered 42k at astandard boost and will let it go for £250.

A 20g would work great on a 2.5! I reckon it'd spool at c.3,500rpm or thereabouts! (It'd be like a VF34 on a 2.0L.)

The 20G is a very good turbo on a 2.5 and can be very cost effective. This assumes a 2.5 with standard internals. Properly mapped, no lag and very responsive. 1 bar of boost before 3000 rpm and a nice car to drive. If the 2.5 has uprated internals I would be going for a bigger turbo.
